Dr. Ellen Koch is a fully licensed clinical psychologist who practices behavioral evidenced-based treatments for adolescents and adults. Dr. Koch can also provide telehealth in states affiliated with Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT).
Background:
In particular, Dr. Koch has experience and expertise in behavioral and Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment (CBT) modalities such as exposure-based treatments for anxiety disorders and PTSD, Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) for depression, and interventions related to the interaction between physical and mental health. Additionally, Dr. Koch has both clinical and research experience in effective treatments for phobias, PTSD, and the role of anxiety sensitivity in the development of anxiety and mood disorders.
Dr. Koch earned her Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate degrees from Western Michigan University. She also completed specialized training in behavioral and Cognitive Behavioral Treatment (CBT) for anxiety disorders, behavioral medicine, and PTSD at Michigan Medicine (formerly University of Michigan Hospital), Department of Psychiatry.
In addition to her clinical practice at McCaskill Family Services, Dr. Koch has been a tenured professor, teaching doctoral-level courses related to assessment and treatment and providing clinical supervision to doctoral students at a community health clinic for over 20 years. She has published journal articles and book chapters related to effective treatments for anxiety disorders. Dr. Koch also served on the National Accreditation Commission for training programs in health service psychology.
